How Equiptova selects sources, handles editions and keeps variable data distinct from formulas.

Technical illustration of a source document and traceable evidence trail.

Source quality depends on the claim. Equiptova prefers primary and authoritative material such as government publications, official standards metadata, university extension guidance and current manufacturer technical documents when product-specific facts are necessary.

What matters

  • Formula evidence is separated from market data, local adoption evidence and manufacturer-specific records.
  • Protected standards and code tables are not copied into public pages simply because they are useful; rights and permitted use remain separate controls.
  • Variable values such as gravel density or product bag yield are labeled with their source and scope instead of being generalized beyond the evidence.
  • Local code adoption is not inferred from the existence of a model code edition.

How to use this page

This policy describes the controls used for the current public site. It is written to match implemented behavior: the launch excludes unresolved specialist-review process pages, keeps source and review states separate, and does not claim professional review where no verified reviewer exists.

Evidence hierarchy

Use the strongest appropriate source for the claim

Not every statement needs the same source burden. Stable geometry can be demonstrated mathematically; a product-specific yield should come from the relevant product documentation; and a local requirement should be tied to the authority that actually governs it.

Primary documents first

Prefer first-party standards, agency material, manufacturer documentation or original technical sources when they directly support the claim.

Context before precision

A number without the condition behind it can mislead. Density, yield and coverage need the context that makes the value meaningful.

Conflicts stay visible

When credible sources disagree, the page should not hide the disagreement or average incompatible values without justification.

Freshness

Update frequency should match how quickly the fact can change

A mathematical formula can remain stable for years. A product specification, market price, adopted code provision or dataset can change much faster. Source freshness should therefore be judged by the type of information, not by forcing every page onto the same calendar.

Dates are useful when they help a reader understand the currency of the evidence. They should not be changed merely to make an unchanged page look new.

Common questions

Answers before you continue

Does every sentence need a citation?

No. The source burden depends on the claim. External facts, product values and source-dependent assumptions need stronger traceability than basic arithmetic or clearly explained geometry.

What if two sources disagree?

The disagreement should be investigated and described when it affects the answer. A page should not manufacture certainty by hiding material conflicts.

Are old sources automatically bad?

No. Age matters when the underlying information can change. A stable technical relationship may remain valid while a product specification or local requirement may need much more frequent verification.
